THE WAR LESS TRAVELLED

DIRECTED BY LAUREN ANDERS BROWN

WITH TRAN THU DOAN

(30 MINUTES)

If a war happens before you’re born and Agent Orange is still in the pipes poisoning the water today, is the war really over? Following Vietnamese-Americans facing their past, we learn the revisionist history of the ‘Resistance War Against America’ that the current generation is left fighting to this day.

The War Less Travelled is the premiere audio documentary by Lauren Anders Brown, an award-winning director and photographer. Lauren has brought experience of filming and photographing in over 40 countries, with a focus on global health, humanitarian issues and culturally and/or gender sensitive subjects in low-resource settings including conflict zones.

The War Less Travelled was selected as a finalist in the 2021 and 2020 Whickers Radio & Audio Award. It was also named on the official shortlist for the 2023 13th Annual Lovie Awards by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

This project is really important, really urgent, and it is an untold story about the Vietnamese boat people and intergenerational issues that the protagonist is facing.
